I had two knife blocks - one for the most frequently used and the other holding everything else. Having acquired the Shun Utility knive, as well as two Santokus, I needed more large slots than I had in my current block, but did not want slots for steak knives. This one is perfect. Holds the 7" and 5.5" Shun Santokus on the left side if you are facing the block side, the Utility "spreader" knife at the top right, and one of my Wusthof chefs on the right, as well as five smaller knives. The slot for the shears is a little large for my Wusthof shears, but it's fine. Love the bamboo, and mine has the Shun logo on the front.

This holds all of the knives perfectly. It goes with my kitchen decor. I also like the horizontal slots, it is better for the blades. It also has a good amount of slots. Definitely recommend!
